I don't hate being in Los Angeles, especially at this time of year, but I do find myself missing my husband. I had a few auditions to attend, though, so the trip couldn't be avoided. At least the weather is nice. I am still not used to how cold Chicago gets this time of year.

In happier news, I feel really good about the audition I had today. I think I have a good shot at a callback.

It goes without saying, but I have a completely amazing husband. As always, he whisked me away to somewhere unbelievable for our anniversary.

Tahiti was BEAUTIFUL! I had a lovely time and of course I've come home with a gorgeous tan, if I do say so myself.

I'm craving Mexican. Care to indulge that desire? I promise you will be well rewarded.

Chicago is so beautiful this time of year. It's not my first fall in Chicago, of course, but I am still quite enamored by all the colors and the falling leaves.

I'm going to have to do some decorating for Halloween. It's one of my favorite holidays. I've already got a costume picked out for myself.

It has been quite the summer! Two of Franklin's grandchildren have gotten married recently and both ceremonies were quite lovely. I wish them both all the best.

I must admit, though, that I will be glad to get home to my own bed. I have enjoyed traveling with my husband over the past several weeks, but there's nothing quite like being in your own home.

I am also certain that Hera has missed us almost as much as I have missed her.

Sunday August 15th; 2pm CET (Venice) [Sunday

I am having the most lovely summer. Franklin planned a vacation to France before we flew to Italy for his grandson's wedding. There really aren't words to describe how beautiful it was.

The ceremony was absolutely breathtaking. Maible looked beautiful and the two of them looked so happy. I would be envious if I did not have such an amazing husband of my own.

Speaking of which, it's our one year anniversary today. It's hard to believe a year has gone by already. It's been a wonderful year.

There aren't words for how much I absolutely adore The Parent Trap. Not the crappy Lindsay Lohan version - the original Hayley Mills version. It's such an adorable movie. I've seen it a hundred times, but I could never get tired of it.

In other news, it's nice that the weather is getting a little warmer. I have definitely been ready for this Midwest winter to go far away. I didn't hate having snow, but I really do prefer the warmer weather. It's a shame we aren't closer to the beach, though. I wonder if I can convince my darling husband to accompany me to Los Angeles for a week or two. It would be nice to see old friends and spend a little time sunning myself on a nice beach.

Granted, we will be traveling to Italy in August. I will need to work on my tan before then, though. The winter has left me far too pale.

OH MY GOSH, I HAVE A DOG!!!

Sorry for the random caps lock, but I haven't actually had a dog since I was a kid and I love him SO much. My husband surprised me with her when he came home from his latest business trip. She's HUGE, which is awesome. I hate little dogs. They're completely useless. I'm going to have to name her, because I don't think I can just keep calling her "dog."

In other news, it seems we'll be traveling to Italy for a wedding this summer. I'm excited! Not only will I have an excuse to buy a new dress, but I love weddings and Italy is very beautiful.

Wednesday February 24; 9:54am ART (Buenos Aires) [Wednesday
February 24th, 2010 at 12:44pm]
As promised, my husband has whisked me away to a much warmer climate since his return from Los Angeles. We settled on Buenos Aires and I have to admit that the resort here is beautiful. He always has had excellent taste, of course, but he never fails to surprise me.

It wouldn't be quite warm enough for swimming if the pool weren't heated, but luckily that isn't a problem here. Anyway, it's in the 70s, which is so much nicer than the weather in Chicago. It's nice to go outside without needing twenty layers of clothing just to keep warm.

I think I would like to visit San Telmo today, unless you already have something else planned for us. What do you think?

[ mood | cold ]

The house feels so much larger with Franklin away. I should be used to this, of course, since he travels for business so frequently, but it is so impossibly cold outside that I haven't been venturing out very much.

I might also be a little bit jealous, because my husband is in Los Angeles where it is MUCH warmer than it is here in Chicago. I've been in Chicago for several months now, but this is my first full winter here and it's definitely something of an adjustment.

Luckily, my husband has promised we will go someplace warm once he returns. The only question is where. Any suggestions?
